- Limit / market
- Limit orders wait on the order book and pay the lower maker fee. Market orders fill at once and pay the taker fee.
- Your tier
- The VIP level your 30-day volume or balance reaches on that exchange, from its own fee schedule (Hyperliquid counts 14 days).
- Fees a month
- 30 days of trading fees at your tier, after the sign-up rebate or discount. A discount that only covers your first so much volume (Hyperliquid, Phoenix) counts spread over your first year.
- Interest
- The exchange's standard flexible savings rate on USDT or USDC, whichever pays you more, with its caps, read once a day at 00:00 UTC. Limited-time bonuses open to everyone count until they end; new-user promotions aren't counted. Hyperliquid pays interest only on idle balance in a portfolio-margin account (a mode you switch on) worth over $10K and under $25M; other DEXs pay no interest on idle balance.
- Overall
- Fees after the sign-up perk, minus 30 days of interest if you also keep the balance in the exchange's savings (apart from the money you trade with), minus the estimated value of the Star Packs those fees earn. Lower is better.
- CEX / DEX
- A CEX holds your funds and checks your ID. On a DEX you trade from your own wallet, with no ID check.
- Star Pack
- A free pack from VIPs with a crypto prize inside. Verified members get them on their trades on the exchanges we can verify (marked Star Packs).
- Points
- Programs that hand out points before the exchange's token launches (marked Points). They may turn into an airdrop, or into nothing.
