VIPs · Important Update: Revision of the Funding Rate Formula for OKX Perpetual Futures

OKX is changing how funding rates are calculated for all of its perpetual futures contracts by adding an 8/N interval factor to the formula.

The new formula goes live on 2026-06-01, and OKX says all perpetual futures contracts will be gradually moved to it before 2026-06-04.

Contracts that settle every 8 hours will not change, while contracts settling every 4, 2 or 1 hour will have a smaller funding rate per period, since the rate is divided by 2, 4 or 8.

Beginners trading perpetual futures should check the settlement cycle of their contracts and review the product documentation or contact OKX Customer Support if they have questions.
